Draw everyday. All you need is a pencil.
All kids draw. It’s simple, just make marks on paper. No rules no boundaries.
Printmaking
-
It all begins with an idea. Draw an image in black and white high contrast.
-
Transfer the image backwards onto a block of linoleum.
-
Using woodcarving tools, carve out all the areas of the image that do not print.
-
With a roller, apply ink to the block. All the areas not carved away will absorb the ink. Place paper onto the inked block and press to transfer the ink. Peel off paper.
Pushing clay.
Sculpture is like drawing with all of your fingers at once. If you don’t like the line, you just push in into the right place.
Movement and action
-
Most sculptures are static and feel solid and heavy. I try to make work that is in motion.
-
Some pieces need to be explored in all viewing angles to understand the story.
Respect for the players
-
The 1950s Jazz Era is a time I missed out on. Would have loved to have been there.
-
Another sculpture making sounds.
Two Wheel Love
-
It’s important to wear helmets for safety.
-
There’s nothing like having that special someone that trusts you.
Do you collect art?
I have been selling my work since I was in college. I also have painted commissions for clients and enjoy creating custom pieces. If you have any custom art needs let’s talk.
